Beginning his career as an illustrator, Federico Fellini soon started to get involved in cinema, writing screenplays; he notoriously co-wrote the Oscar-nominated Rossellini’s Rome, Open City script. His career in the world of moving images was then launched. He soon evolved from simply writing to being assistant director, then co-director, and finally taking off alone, becoming one of the most universally loved and influential directors ever.
